University of Wyoming swimming and diving head coach Dave Denniston announced an addition to the staff. He named Sydney Buckley a volunteer assistant coach with the Cowboys and Cowgirls.
“I’m beyond excited to join the UW swim and dive staff,” Buckley said. “I am passionate about swimming and helping athletes achieve greatness. In just a few days, I have noticed that there is something special about UW, and I’m excited to get to be a part of that on and off the pool deck.”
Buckley has made various coaching stops over the years. She most recently was the head coach of the Torpedoes Swim Team in Manitou Springs, Colorado, for three years.
Prior to that stop, Buckley was a volunteer assistant coach at her alma mater, North Texas, for one season. She graduated from UNT with a degree in accounting.
Buckley currently coaches with Team MPI. It’s a conglomeration of endurance coaches from around the country that share ideas and lead athletes in various endurance endeavors.
