Meghan Powell enters her first season with the Cowgirl soccer program. She comes to Laramie following a three-year stint at Colorado School of Mines.
Powell was the head athletic trainer for the Orediggers, working with football, both men’s and women’s soccer, cross-country, track & field, wrestling and softball. Prior to ascending to the head role, Powell was the assistant athletic trainer in Golden for four years.
Prior to her time at Colorado School of Mines, Powell worked Fort Lewis College in numerous different positions. She was the interim head athletic trainer for one season -- working with football, women’s soccer, softball, cross-country and track. She was also the associate head athletic trainer for one season and held an assistant athletic trainer role for five seasons.
Before her time in Durango, Powell interned at Abilene Christian for one season, working with cross-country and track & field. Prior to that, she was the head athletic trainer at Westmont High School for two years.
Powell earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise science - athletic training at Fort Lewis and earned a master’s degree in kinesiology - athletic training at San Jose State.
