Julie Gonzalez

Gonzalez is in her seventh season with the program in 2025-26 and her third as associate head coach. It is Gonzalez's fourth season as a full-time assistant with UW, after spending the previous three seasons within the program as a volunteer assistant. During her time at UW, she has helped guide 12 student-athletes to All-Mountain West Singles Team accolades and six doubles tandems to All-Doubles Team honors.

The 2023 season was arguably the greatest in program history as Gonzalez helped lead the Cowgirls to their first Mountain West title in program history. Wyoming was selected to its first national postseason tournament ever, as the Brown & Gold played in the inaugural Universal Tennis NIT. Overall, the Cowgirls went 16-11 and 9-1 in conference action. Wyoming also made the UTR NIT for the second consecutive season in 2024.

Gonzalez graduated from Mount Olive with her degree in exercise science with a minor in coaching. While at Mount Olive, Gonzalez earned all-conference doubles honors and in 2017, she earned the Conference Carolinas Scholar-Athlete of the Year for women’s tennis. Gonzalez also played basketball while at UMO.

The Mechlen, Belgium native graduated with her master’s degree in exercise science from West Alabama after her time at Mount Olive. She is the daughter of Kathleen Schuumans and Alfonso Gonzalez-Rodridguez. She also has one brother, Miguel.
