2023-24 (Sophomore): Volk compiled a record of 27-8, missing a couple duals with minor injuries. His record included a 15-8 mark against ranked grapplers. Volk earned All-American status after finishing seventh at the 2024 NCAA Championships. His run to his first-career All-American award featured an upset loss, as the No. 5 seed to the No. 28 seed (Harvard’s Diego Sotelo), in the opening round. Volk followed that up with four straight wins over the No. 21 seed (Oregon State’s Brandon Kaylor), the No. 11 seed (Virginia Tech’s Cooper Flynn), the No. 14 seed (Stanford’s Nico Provo) and the No. 1 seed (Penn State’s Braeden Davis). His wins over Kaylor and Provo avenged earlier-season losses … Volk’s Blood Round matchup was a 4-1 sudden victory over Davis, which marked the second time Volk defeated the No. 1 ranked wrestler. He also accomplished that feat at the Reno Tournament of Champions when he beat Arizona State’s Richard Figueroa. Volk won the Most Outstanding Wrestler in Reno. He also was honored as the Big 12 Wrestler of the Week after his showing in Reno. Volk won the 2024 Big 12 title, going on the biggest Cinderella run of anyone at the tournament. He was seeded fifth and beat the No. 4 seed (South Dakota State’s Tanner Jordan), the No. 1 seed (Missouri’s Noah Surtin) and the No. 2 seed (Oklahoma State’s Troy Spratley). Volk’s wins over Jordan and Surtin avenged losses from earlier in the year. He piled up a team-high 46 takedowns and six technical falls. Volk went a team-best 8-3 in duals at 125. He added an 8-2 postseason record and an 11-3 mark in regular-season tournaments.

2022-23 (Freshman): Volk had a breakout true freshman season, recording 21 wins and qualifying for the NCAA Championships as the No. 21 seed. He went 1-2 in his first appearance at the Championships, picking up a 3-1 upset victory over Michigan's No. 12 Michael DeAugustino. Volk finished fifth at the Big 12 Tournament, earning automatic qualification to the NCAA Championships. He picked up his first career ranked win with a statement 11-1 major decision upset over Missouri's No. 12 Noah Surtin. Volk tallied five ranked wins on the season, including three top-20 wins. He helped the Cowboys to a dual win over Utah Valley with a dominant 11-1 major decision over Kase Mauger. Volk finished third at the Cowboy Open, Reno Tournament of Champions and Soldier Salute tournaments. He won the Western Colorado Open, posting a 3-0 record with two bonus-point wins. 

High School: Volk was a four-time state finalist and a three-time state champion while competing at Lakeville North High school. He won the 2022 U20 Freestyle World Team Trials, earning a spot on the U20 Freestyle World Team. He was a 2019 USAW Cadet National Champion in Freestyle and Greco-Roman. Volk also finished fourth in a highly competitive field at the 2021 Super 32 Tournament. He was tabbed as the 48th ranked prospect in the country.
