Matt Callaway enters his fifth season on the Wyoming soccer staff as an assistant coach primarily in charge of goalkeeping. In Callaway's first year at UW, the Cowgirls tied the program record for most shutouts in a season with eight clean sheets.

He came to Laramie after being an assistant coach at the University of Sioux Falls. Before joining the USF staff in 2015, he was an assistant coach at East Texas Baptist University for the men's and women's soccer teams.

In 2013, he served as an assistant and youth coach for the Andromeda Soccer Club and the volunteer assistant men's soccer coach at the University of Dallas. During that time, Callaway was also a staff coach for the North Texas Olympic Development Program.

In 2012, he became the men's and women's assistant soccer coach at Ottawa (Kan.) University, after being a graduate assistant coach for two years. During his time there, he helped both teams to winning records. The men's team compiled a 28-25-4 overall record, including a 19-6-2 conference mark, while the women notched a 13-6-0 overall record and going 7-2-0 in conference play. He also assisted the Kansas Rush soccer club as the Director of Goalkeeping. Callaway has been a staff member at the No. 1 Goalkeeper Camp since 2012. From 2011-13, he was a US Youth Soccer Region II goalkeeper staff member.

While a graduate assistant for Ottawa, he worked as an assistant girls' soccer coach at Lawrence High School in Lawrence, Kan. There, he served as staff coach as well as being goalkeeper staff for the Kansas Olympic Development Program.

Callaway, a native of Seagoville, Texas, was a four-year starter as a goalkeeper at Lyon College in Batesville, Ark. from 2006-10. He earned all-league honors twice for the Scots. Callaway, who holds a USSF `B' license, earned his Bachelor's degree in Math and French in 2010, before earning his MBA at Ottawa University in 2012.
