Clower begins her tenth overall season with the Wyoming track & field and cross country programs in 2017-18, starting her second season in a new role as associate head track & field and cross country coach. She came to the program as a volunteer coach in 2009 to help coach the distance squads and has since played an important role both as a coach and team administrator. While at UW, Clower has helped coach the cross country team to new heights. Garrett Zans, Amos Bowen and Holly Page have advanced to the NCAA Championships with her help. Under Clower's tutelage the Cowgirls placed third at the 2014 conference meet to tie their highest finish ever. In track she coaches the middle distance and distance women, including qualifying Candace Wollert to the NCAA West Preliminary in the 800-meter run in 2011 and 2012. She also guided Page to numerous all-time top-10 performances, including three school records.
 
More recently, Clower mentored Kerry White to three NCAA West preliminaries in the 800 meters, her final appearance coming as a senior in 2018. The year prior, Clower played a big role in the success of Cowgirl Audra DeStefano, who ended her career as an Honorable Mention All-American in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in June 2017. Clower helped DeStefano to seven All-Mountain West honors in track & field as well as a conference title and school record in the steeplechase in 2016. She also coached the Gillette, Wyo., native to six UW all-time top 10 times in multiple distance events throughout her career. DeStefano was named the 2016-17 Mountain West Women’s Scholar Athlete of the Year.
 
She came to Laramie from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, where she helped coach the men's cross country team to two Southland Conference (SLC) Championships in 2007 and 2008. While a member of the women's cross country team at Lamar, she received All-Southland Conference honors three years in a row, as well as being named to the NCAA All-South Central Region team twice. During her indoor track career, she was the SLC Open Mile Champion in 2006 and was a part of the 2006 and 2007 distance medley championship team. She was a two-time SLC Conference Champion in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, as well as a three-time All-SLC team selection. In the same event, she qualified for the NCAA Midwest Regional Championship twice. Clower placed 22nd at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Sacramento, Calif., her senior year. She also qualified for the World University Games in Bangkok, Thailand, in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, where she placed 13th. She currently is the Lamar University and Southland Conference record holder in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:16.99.
 
Clower came to Wyoming from Tauranga, New Zealand. She graduated in 2007, receiving her bachelor's degree from Lamar in psychology with a minor in kinesiology. Formerly Amanda King, she married Dean Clower, the head women's tennis coach at UW on Dec. 18, 2008. The couple has a daughter, Riley, born in September, 2011, and a son, Westyn, born August, 2013.
