She swam a career-best 1:58.68 in the 200 backstroke at the MW Championship. She swam a season-best time of 55.31 in the 100 backstroke at the MW Championship. Against Denver she record season-high finishes of third place in the 100 backstroke at 58.07 and 200 backstroke at 2:07.41. Junior: (2012-13): Finnesand saw action in five meets during her junior campaign. She swam a season-best 58.79 in the 100 backstroke against UNLV, as she finished fourth in the event. She also swam a season-best 2:07.27 in the 200 backstroke against UNLV finishing in fourth-place. Against New Mexico, she earned a season-best second place finish in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:10.27. Sophomore: (2011-12): Finnesand had an up-and-down sophomore season. Her best meet came at the Northern Colorado-Colorado School of Mines triangular finishing first in three events and second in one other event. Her best individual finishes came in the 100 and 200 butterfly taking first in each with times of 59.01 and 2:11.81, respectively. During winter training at the Citrus Classic she finished in the top five in the 200 freestyle and 200 backstroke. In the 200 free, Finnesand finished fourth with a time of 2:11.42. She finished fifth in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:57.85. At the 2012 Mountain West Championships, Finnesand recorded two top-15 finishes in the 200 backstroke and 200 butterfly. She finished 14th in the 200 back with a time of 2:01.59, and also finished 14th in the 200 fly (2:04.19). She earned her second Cowgirl letter award. Freshman: (2010-11): Finnesand swam very well for the Cowgirls in her freshman season. She did not record any top-10 finishes at the Mountain West Championships, but during the regular season she recorded a number of top finishes. In the 100 freestyle, she took first place on two occasions against Air Force and Northern Colorado. She also placed second in the 100 free against UNLV and placed fourth against TCU. Her other first-place finish came in the 100 butterfly against Mesa State. Against Air Force she and her teammates placed second in the 200 medley relay. Her 50 and 100 free times during the season were the Cowgirls' fifth-fastest times of the season. She earned her first letter award as a Cowgirl. High School: Finnesand had an excellent high school career winning five individual state championships in the 100 and 200 butterfly, and the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle. She was also named team captain her junior and senior years. She excelled in the classroom being named honor roll her junior and senior years. Personal: She was born in Aberdeen, S.D. on Nov. 19, 1991. She is the daughter of Nick and Deb Finnesand. She is majoring in communications at Wyoming.
