Against Air Force, he came away with a fifth-place finish in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:11.06. He also finished second in the 200 breaststroke in the Colorado Mesa Invite with a final mark of 2:06.37 and was a member of the second-place 400 freestyle relay team that had a mark of 3:06.16. At the WAC Championships, McCormick finished 10th in the 100 breaststroke final with a time of 2:00.68.Junior (2013-14): McCormick built off a strong sophomore campaign to become one of the Pokes most reliable breaststrokers in his junior season. He earned All-Western Athletic Conference honors in the 200 breaststroke, as he finished seventh with a season-best time of 2:01.25. He also scored points for the Pokes in the 100 breaststroke with season-best 55.26, as he finished 12th. He rounded out the WAC Championship with a 14th place finish in the 200 individual medley with a season-best time of 1:51.70. He opened his season on a strong note winning the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:12.77 against Colorado School of Mines.Sophomore: (2012-13): McCormick built off his strong rookie campaign with the Cowboys, as he turned in another productive season. He earned Second Team All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation honors in the 100 and 200 breaststroke. McCormick finished fifth in the 100 breaststroke with a personal-best time of 55.26, he followed that up with a personal-best in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:00.85, as he earned sixth-place. He also recorded a career best time of 1:51.26 in the individual medley at the MPSF Championships. McCormick finished his season with four first-place crowns, as he finished in the top-10 in a total of 19 events on the season.. In his opening weekend at the Air Force Academy Duals, he recorded a second-place finish in the 100 and 200 breaststroke and also helped the 200 medley relay team earn a first-place finish.Freshman: (2011-12): McCormick had a productive freshman season swimming the breaststroke events for the Cowboys learning from senior Brandon Fischer, one of the best breaststroke swimmers in Wyoming history. McCormick's best finishes of the season came at the Citrus Classic when he took first in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:13.91. He finished second in the 100 breast (1:00.43) behind Fischer. He also recorded a fifth-place finish in the 400 individual medley. At the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships, he placed 11th in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 56.76. He also recorded a top-12 finish in the 200 breast, touching the wall in 12th with a time of 2:03.19. McCormick earned his first Cowboy letter award.High School: McCormick was a four-time letter winner in swimming while in high school. In 2011, he won the 5A Colorado State Championship in the 100 breaststroke. He also had an excellent summer qualifying for Junior Nationals in the 100 breast and the U.S. Open in the 200 breaststroke.Personal: McCormick was born on Jan. 2, 1993 in Aurora, Colo. He is the son of Bill and Nancy McCormick. He has one older brother, Bryan, who swam at Denver University. He undecided about a college major.
