To start things off he competed in the 200 free (1:50.18) and 200 back (2:03.65) in the dual with Air Force. Cook came away with two seventh-place finishes in the upset over No. 14 Utah, as he recorded a 52.96 in the 100 back and a 2:01.75 in the 200 back. He finished fourth in the 100 back (52.88) against Denver, before a fifth place finish against UNLV (51.92).Junior (2014-15): Cook had yet another outstanding season as a junior for Wyoming. He finished second in the 200 backstroke in the Colorado Mesa Invite with a mark of 1:53.56. Cook was a part of the 200 medley relay team that placed sixth against Air Force, the 400 free relay team that placed fifth, and the 500 free relay team that placed fifth. He also took sixth in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:57.42. Against Denver in October, Cook placed eighth in the 50 backstroke with a time of 25.70. In January against Denver, Cook finished sixth in the 100 backstroke with a time of 53.56 and placed sixth as well against Colorado School of Mines with a time of 1:51.74.Sophomore (2013-14): Cook made big strides in his sophomore season with the Cowboys. He earned Second Team All-Western Athletic Conference honors in two events at the WAC Championships. Cook finished seventh in the 200 backstroke with a time of 49.19, as his mark was the eighth fastest time in Cowboy history. He also finished fifth in the 100 backstroke with a time of 49.19, as he sits fourth all-time in the event in Wyoming history. Cook swam a career-best 1:47.44 in the 200 backstroke in the preliminaries of the WAC Championship. He also appeared in the 200 freestyle finishing 15th at the WAC Championship at 1:39.13. During the regular season his best swim came against Grand Canyon, as he finished second in the 200 backstroke with a then-best time of 1:52.Freshman: (2012-13): Cook appeared in three meets in his first collegiate season for the Cowboys. He set a personal-best time of 1:53.01 in the 200 backstroke at the Houston Invite. He recorded a season-best time of 53.68 in the 100 backstroke at the Cowboys' dual meet with Seattle, North Dakota and Air Force. He also appeared in three events at the Air Force Academy Dual, as he earned a fifth-place finish in the 100 backstroke.High School: Cook joins Wyoming as a backstroke and freestyle swimmer from La Grande High School in La Grande, Ore. He lettered in swimming all four years of high school. As a senior captain he won the state championship in the 100-yard backstroke and 200 freestyle. Cook was also a team captain his junior swimming season. At the Summer 2012 Junior Nationals, Cook placed 11th in the 100 backstroke. Cook also had four excellent years in the classroom at La Grande, earning honor roll and National Honor Society membership.Personal: Cook was born on Aug. 10, 1994 in Redmond, Ore. He is the son of Christopher and Kelly Cook. He has two siblings, Emily and Georgia. He is majoring in energy systems engineering at UW. Cook was also recruited by Pacific, Cal Poly and Columbia.
