Hometown Biography Summary Biography Junior (2015-16): Verdi took seventh in the 100 fly against Border War rival Colorado State with a time of 1:04.71. She also recorded a 25.44 in the 50 free for UW. In early December, Verdi took part in the 100 breast (1:11.73) for the Cowgirls against Denver, and then had a 24.97 in the 50 free in the double-dual with Air Force and NAU. Â Sophomore (2014-15): Verdi saw limited action for the Cowgirls this season. She was a part of the 400 free relay team in the dual with Denver that finished fourth. Against Air Force, Verdi posted a 13th-place finish in the 100 yard backstroke, she also was a part of the sixth-place 200 medley relay and the fourth-place 400 freestyle relay team. She came away with an eighth-place finish against New Mexico in the 100 freestyle and was a member of the 200 freestyle relay team that finished fifth. Freshman (2013-14): Verdi appeared in four meets during her first season with Wyoming. She saw action for the Cowgirls against Colorado State finishing 10th in the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.39. Also in the same meet she swam a career-best time of 55.91 in the 100 freestyle. High School: Verdi was a four-year letterwinner at Santiago High School in Corona, Calif., and joins the Cowgirls for sprint freestyle. She was All-Conference all four years and team captain her senior year, while also setting the school's 100 freestyle and 200 freestyle relay record. Her junior season, she was awarded the Academic-Athletic Team Award and was a part of the 200 and 400 freestyle relay record teams. As a freshman, Verdi was voted Rookie of the Year for her high school swim team. In the classroom, she was a member of National Honors Society, graduated with Honors with Distinction. Personal: She was born November 11, 1994 in Corona, Calif., and is the daughter of Vinnie and Lori Verdi. She has one sister, Savannah and plans to major in Zoology while at UW. Verdi was also recruited by Idaho, Vermont and Colorado State.
