Biography

Junior (2014-15): Waller competed in a number of events for Wyoming during his junior season. Against UC Santa Barbara, Waller came away with a second-place finish in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:37.96, also finished second in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:42.46. Waller dominated in the 1,650 free against Colorado School of Mines with a time of 16:56.45. He brought home a victory against Air Force as he won the 500 free. Waller earned the Pokes first victory against Denver in October as he won the 200 freestyle at 1:42.60 and he also finished fourth in the 100 freestyle with a time of 47.76. Against Air Force, he finished third in the 200 freestyle with a mark of 1:42.15.

Sophomore (2013-14): Waller worked his way into being one of the Pokes most consistent distance swimmers during his sophomore season. He scored points for the Cowboys in the 500 freestyle at the Western Athletic Conference Championships finishing in 13th place with a season-best mark of 4:28.79. He also swam in the 200 freestyle recording a time of 1:41.11. Waller earned one victory on the season taking the crown in the 1,000 freestyle against Grand Canyon with a time of 9:41.57.

Freshman: (2012-13)Waller was one of the most consistent freshmen on the Cowboys during his rookie campaign. Kevin earned Second Team All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation honors in the 1,650 freestyle, as he finished fifth with a personal-best time of 15:26.55, the third fastest mark in school history. He earned a first-place finish in his first weekend as a Cowboy against Air Force, as he took the crown in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:42.89. He earned a second-place finish in the 1,000 freestyle at UNLV with a time of 9:25.11, ranking second on the Cowboys' all-time top-10 list. Also at UNLV, Waller earned a first-place finish in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:33.81.

High School: Waller a native of North Bend, Ore. He was a four-year letterwinner at North Bend High School and was the three-time MVP of the swim team. Waller left North Bend as the state 4A record holder in the 200 and 500 freestyle. He also holds the school records in the 100 butterfly, 200 individual medley, 100, 200 and 500 freestyles. In 2011, he helped North Bend to a state swimming championship. In club swimming, Waller is a three-time Junior National qualifier. He is also a three-time member of the Oregon Swimming Zone team. In the classroom, Waller Academic All-American in 2010 and 2012 as well as a four year honor roll student.

Personal: Waller was born in Coos Bay, Ore., on Sept. 4, 1993. He is the son of John and Christina Waller. He has one older brother, John. He plans to major in agriculture at Wyoming. Waller was also recruited by West Virginia, Pacific, Cornell and Louisville out of high school.
