Biography

Senior (2022-23): Participated primarily in backstroke and the individual medley … was named All-Mountain West Conference for her performance in the 100-yard backstroke, swimming a career-best, and team-best, time of 54.90 … had the team’s second-fastest 200-yard backstroke time, a career-best 2:01.26 that she swam at the conference championships (2/17/23) … clocked in at a season-best 2:04.11 in the 200-yard IM at the SMU Invite (11/19/22).

Junior (2021-22): Participated primarily in backstroke events and the individual medley … posted a trio of career-best times at the Mountain West Conference Championships (2/17/22) … her team’s-fastest 100-yard backstroke time of 55.36 along with a 1:59.72 in the 200-yard backstroke and a 2:03.82 in the 200-yard IM.

Sophomore (2020-21): Recorded four season-best times at the Mountain West Conference Championships (2/19/21) … swam a 25.84 in the 50 backstroke, a 55.84 in the 100 backstroke, a 2:02.06 in the 200 backstroke and a 2:05.78 in the 200 IM … also claimed a couple season-best times in a dual against Hawaii (1/29/21), going 53.84 in the 100 freestyle and 57.39 in the 100 butterfly. 

Freshman (2019-20): An All-Conference performer in the 200 backstroke at the MW Championships during her first season…recorded a career-best time of 1:57.67 to finish fourth in the event…scored points in the 100 backstroke with a career-time of 54.71…ranks seventh all-time in the school record book…was lead leg of the 400 medley relay team that finished sixth in a time of 3:41.07 and the 200 medley relay team that placed eighth in a time of 1:41.57…recorded a 50 freestyle time of 23.76 at the Championships.
 
High School: A four-time All-Conference selection while attending Oswego High School…was named an All-American and All-State twice, while being elected a team captain her senior season…helped lead her team to four conference championships and placed in the top eight at the state meet…was coached by Deryl Leubner…an excellent student, she was a member of the honor roll.

Personal: She is the daughter of Tony and Kathy Giles…has three siblings, Hannah, Luke and Olivia...majoring in kinesiology and health promotion.
