Preston Harrison

Preston Harrison brings a rich and diverse background in competitive swimming, with over 15 years of experience. Starting his swimming journey at the age of 10 in Germany, Preston has since swam for clubs in Kansas and Colorado. He was a walk-on to the Miami University (Ohio) swim team in 2019 before deciding to shift focus in 2020. Following a brief time exploring other career paths, Preston returned to the pool, joining the University of Wyoming swim team in his final year of eligibility at age 24.

In the summer of 2024, Preston transitioned into coaching after several years of volunteer experience from his time as a club swimmer. Now, as a first-year assistant coach at the University of Wyoming, his goal is to absorb the methodologies and practices that will enable him to one day lead a Division I swim team as a head coach. He is committed to not only to the technical side of swimming but also to shaping athletes into well-rounded individuals. He values one-on-one interactions to discover what motivates each athlete, helping them become the best version of themselves.

Currently pursuing a degree in Psychology at the University of Wyoming, Preston aims to bring his understanding of human behavior to his coaching approach. His love for coaching comes from his ability to connect with swimmers on a personal level and help them succeed both in and out of the pool.
