Mike Cotterman started with University of Wyoming in December 2005. Prior to U.W. Mike was the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at Drake University for five years. In his final year at Drake University, Mike directed the strength & conditioning programs for Football, Volleyball, Women's Soccer, and Track and Field. In 2002, the Drake S.A.A.C. recognized Mike with the Giant Steps Award as `Coach of the Year', which he went onto become a national finalist. While in Des Moines, Mike was active in the Iowa Strength & Conditioning Association presenting several times at the state clinic. Mike graduated with a Masters in Education in Developmental Kinesiology from Bowling Green State University while performing a Graduate Assistantship in the Exercise Physiology and Strength & Conditioning Departments. He received his Bachelors in Sports Science from Ohio University. Mike has been a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist through the N.S.C.A. since 1996 and Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified through the C.S.C.C.a. since 2005, and a Registered Coach with Distinction through the N.S.C.A. In 2014 Mike received the highest honor in his profession when he was awarded the title of Master Strength & Conditioning Coach from the C.S.C.C.a., which at the time less than 200 collegiate strength coaches have achieved.
