Fernando Garcia-Villegas is entering his third year at the University of Wyoming. Prior to coming to Laramie, Garcia-Villegas was an assistant director of sports performance at the University of Evansville where he spent three and a half years working with baseball, throws, cross country, swim and dive, men’s and women’s golf, and women’s soccer.

Prior to Evansville, Garcia-Villegas was a graduate assistant for two years at William Woods University where he oversaw the track and field program as well as assisting with other teams. Before William Woods, he was an Olympic sports intern at the University of Missouri for one season assisting with as many sports as he could. Garcia-Villegas also worked in the private sector at MU Human Performance Institute for a span of four years working with local high schools’ soccer programs, youth athletes, and some professional athletes.

Garcia-Villegas received his master’s degree in athletic administration at William Woods and a bachelor’s degree in nutrition and exercise physiology. He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
