Biography

2019-20 (Redshirt Freshman):  Liam Clancy played in all eight tournaments for the Wyoming Cowboys in the 2019-20 season.  His best finish was a tie for 12th in The Prestige Individual Invitational.  He also shot his best individual tournament score of 213 (-3) at The Prestige.  Clancy earned both Academic All-Mountain West and MW Scholar-Athlete honors.
 
2018-19 (Freshman):  Clancy redshirted his freshman season.
 
High School:  Clancy hails from Billings, Mont., where he played for coach Mark Hutchinson at Billings Central Catholic High School.  He won the Montana State Class A individual championship as a sophomore in 2015, leading his team to a state title.  He finished as the state runner-up as a junior and senior, and placed third at the state championships his freshman year.  Clancy took fifth place at the 2017 Montana State Junior Championship, and tied for the second alternate spot in the 2017 U.S. Junior Amateur qualifier in South Dakota.  Clancy was also an outstanding student in high school, achieving a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average.
 
Personal:  Born May 18, 1999, he is the son of Diane Clancy.  His sister, Kyla (Clancy) Lien, played college golf at Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Mont., and is currently the head men’s and women’s golf coach at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho.  Clancy is majoring in finance at UW.
