Biography

2018-19: Taylor appeared in 31 games in his first season with the Brown and Gold including 22 starts. He finished the season averaging 6.4 points per game, 3.1 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game. Taylor played 26.9 minutes per game as a true freshman. He shot 43.9 percent from the field and 76 percent from the free throw line. He scored a career high 21 points in a win over Grambling on Nov. 14. He went 6-of-9 from the field in that contest. Taylor became the first Cowboy freshman to score over 20 points in a game since Desmar Jackson scored 31 points at Utah in 2010. He finished with 21 points. He added 14 points going 5-of-10 from the field at New Mexico on Jan. 19. He finished the season with eight games in double-figures. He added a career-high eight rebounds twice, once against ETSU and once against Nevada at home on Feb. 16.

Before Wyoming:  A small forward, Taylor averaged nearly a double-double with 15.7 points per game to go along with 9.1 rebounds at Hillcrest Prep in Arizona. A talented lefty-handed shooter, he shot 46 percent from the field and 40 percent from behind the arc. He also has a knack for shooting from the charity stripe executing at an 85 percent clip. He was also recruited by Utah State, New Mexico, Weber State and San Francisco.

High School: As a senior at Oscar Smith High School in Chesapeake, Va., Taylor averaged 16.1 points per game to go along with 8.8 rebounds per contest. He was also a force defensively, as he added 1.3 blocks per game. He shot a solid 56 percent from the field making 89-of-143 attempts, as he led his team to a 23-3 record in 2016-17.
