Career Stats Career Statistics Biography Summary Biography UW This Season: Berg will compete for playing time in a deep linebacking corps. He was third on the depth chart at the weakside linebacker spot after spring drills had concluded. 2012: Berg played in 11 games as a redshirt freshman, tallying seven tackles. His best game of the season came versus Fresno State, when he had four stops.2011: Redshirted. High School: Berg was named First Team All-WESCO league as a linebacker and running back at Woodway his senior year. He was also the only two-time winner of the U.S. Army/Seattle Seahawks High School Player of the Week honor for the 2010 season. He had 50 tackles, 2.5 sacks, one interception and two fumble recoveries as a senior, returning one fumble recovery 49 yards for a touchdown. As a running back, Berg carried the ball 195 times for 1,440 yards and scored 22 touchdowns. He averaged 7.39 yards per carry, 144 yards rushing per game and had a long run of 95 yards. He caught nine passes for 111 yards and one TD, and also completed one pass for 29 yards and a touchdown. He scored a total of 144 points for the year. Berg also served as his team's kickoff specialist. Woodway High posted a 6-4 record in 2010 and advanced to the first round of the state playoffs. As a junior, Berg earned Second Team All-WESCO Conference honors as he was credited with 71 tackles, four sacks, one interception and one fumble recovery. He rushed for 650 yards on 103 carries, averaging 6.31 yards per carry and 65.0 yards per game, with a long run of 60 yards. Berg caught six passes for 167 yards and one touchdown. As a junior, he scored 66 points. He also served as his team's punter, averaging 38.15 yards per punt, and was his team's kickoff specialist. His team posted a 5-5 record. His sophomore season, he made 58 tackles and had one interception. He also ran for 159 yards on 56 carries. Berg was an outstanding basketball player in high school, scoring 324 points as a senior for a 15.4 point-per-game average and earning All-WESCO South Division honors. His sophomore season, he was a starter on a 19-8 basketball team that placed second at state, and he was named his team's best defensive player. Berg was named a team captain as a senior for both his football and basketball teams. He also competed in track and field as a sprinter his freshman and sophomore years of high school as his team won back-to-back state titles. He played for high school football coach John Gradwohl at Woodway High. Personal: Born Nov. 3, 1991, he is the son of Teressa and Dan Berg. He has a younger sister, K.C. His father played basketball and baseball at Concordia University in Portland, Ore. His mother played volleyball and basketball at Concordia. He had two aunts and two uncles who played college sports. Berg was also recruited by Air Force. He is pursuing a degree in communications at UW.
