Summary

Biography

UW This Season: Winters finished second on the depth chart at field cornerback after spring drills.

2014: Winters appeared in nine games in his true freshman season. He finished the season with four total tackles all being solo stops. He recorded a career-high two tackles at Fresno State.

High School: Winters committed to the Wyoming Cowboys after an outstanding high school career. Winters was named Second Team All-State in 2013 by the Missouri Football Coaches Association. He also earned First Team All-District and First Team All-Conference as a defensive back and wide receiver his senior season. He intercepted six passes and had five sacks on defense, while accumulating more than 1,300 receiving yards, 600 rushing yards and scoring 17 touchdowns, including three kickoff return TDs his senior season. His Grandview High team advanced to the second round of the Missouri Class 4 playoffs in 2013, and ended the season with a 5-6 record. He was an honor-roll student for all four years of high school. He played for head coach Andy Leech at Grandview High School in Grandview, Mo.

Personal: Born July 21, 1996, he is the son of Micah and Tandra Ross. He has two siblings, Micah and Malachi. His uncle, Shelton Ross, played football at the University of Arizona. Winters also had recruiting interest from Kansas, Minnesota, Illinois and Iowa State. He is pursuing a degree in management at UW.
