Biography

UW This Season: Robert Priester enters his third season in the Wyoming defensive secondary, making him the most experienced defensive back for the Cowboys.  He will enter his junior season having started 17 of 22 career games. 

2015: Priester appeared in 11 games with 10 starts during his sophomore season. He finished the season with 50 total tackles with 36 solo stops and 14 assisted tackles. He also added three pass breakups and one interception. Priester forced and recovered one fumble. He added two tackles for loss for two yards. Priester recorded a career-high nine tackles against Eastern Michigan. He was credited with six tackles, forced a fumble and had an interception at Air Force. Priester recorded seven tackles at Boise State. He recovered a fumble at San Diego State. Against North Dakota, he recorded six total tackles. 2014: Priester appeared in 11 games with seven starts as a true freshman. He was credited with 39 total tackles with 29 solo stops and 10 assisted tackles. Also forced two fumbles on the season and broke up two passes. He recorded a career-high nine tackles and added a forced fumble against Florida Atlantic. Priester registered eight tackles, a forced fumble and a pass breakup against Hawai’i. He recovered a fumble against Utah State along with a pass breakup versus the Aggies. 

High School: Priester recorded 21 total tackles his senior season (13 solo tackles and eight assists), including one tackle for a loss, and he had three passes defended. He caught four passes for 55 yards and one touchdown and added 55 yards in kick returns as a high school senior. Priester ended his high school career with 83 total tackles (59 solo tackles and 24 assists), three tackles for loss, two interceptions and four passes defended. Offensively, he completed his high school career with 234 receiving yards on 28 receptions and scored four receiving TDs. He also had 747 all-purpose yards in his career, including 325 yards in kickoff returns and 36 career yards returning punts. He played for head coach Shawn Taylor. Priester was also recruited by Ball State, Florida International and Utah State.
