High School: Ja’Chai Baker earned Second Team Class 4A All-District honors from the Des Moines Register as a senior in 2015.  Class 4A is the largest classification in Iowa.  He is ranked by 247 Sports as the No. 13 recruit in the state of Iowa.  Baker was credited with 41 tackles, including 29 solo tackles, 4.0 sacks and three fumble recoveries his senior season at Lewis Central High in Council Bluffs, Iowa.  His 41 tackles ranked him No. 23 among all Class 4A players at all positions in Iowa, and his three fumble recoveries tied him for No. 3 among all Class 4A players in Iowa.  He helped lead the Titans to an 8-4 record in 2015.  Lewis Central advanced to the Iowa Class 4A State Playoffs.  The Titans won their first two games in the 2015 state playoffs, advancing to the quarterfinals of state.  Baker is also a starter on the Lewis Central basketball team.  He played for head football coach Jim Duggan at Lewis Central. Baker was also recruited by Iowa, Iowa State and Nebraska.
