College athletics is evolving rapidly, and sustained investment is essential for programs that want to compete for championships and postseason success.
The updated men's basketball season ticket model allows Wyoming Athletics to continue investing in student-athlete resources, recruiting, retention, and the overall fan experience while remaining one of the most affordable and accessible basketball experiences in the Mountain West.
This is not a venue-wide increase. In fact, 15 seating sections will see price reductions, which bolster accessibility to all, while increases are concentrated primarily in areas where demand already supports them. The goal is not simply to generate more revenue, it's to create a smarter, more balanced pricing model that improves accessibility, enhances the game-day atmosphere, and positions Wyoming Basketball for long-term success.

In addition to extensive internal research, UW Athletics also received input from two nationally-recognized industry consultants. Together, the three entities used data and people-driven data to ensure all changes will work to accomplish the previously stated goals.
The resulting model reflects a balanced approach that supports both fan access and future program investment.

Wyoming Athletics has taken key steps to making access to athletics events more affordable and accessible in many areas during recent years. Some of the key ways, for basketball specifically, include:
Adjusting pricing, as part of these changes, in the Arena-Auditorium to significantly lower levels than in recent years. For example, the majority of upper-level sections will now be priced starting at $125, a 45% reduction in price from previous seasons.
In addition to already lower prices in some sections, UW Athletics will also offer, in select areas, a family deal which will reduce the ticket price to $100 per ticket in those sections when four or more tickets are purchased, further increasing the value for families and groups of all sizes to experience Wyoming Basketball.
In addition to these changes, Wyoming Athletics is implementing an all-new 80-20 incentive program (explained in detail in further FAQs), which will provide season ticket holders the opportunity to experience significant discounts on a season-over-season basis as a reward for consistent attendance.
Prior to the 2025-26 season, the Cowboy Joe Club eliminated all required seat donations for standard basketball season tickets, even further lowering the cost to fans.
In addition to the elimination of required seat donations, the Cowboy Joe Club has also implemented reduced parking donation requirements for the upcoming 2026-27 basketball season. For example, just a $100 donation will be required to earn parking in the Ford Stadium Lot for men’s basketball, an 80% reduction as opposed to the 2025-26 season.
UW Athletics is also taking steps to ensure young alumni can still experience Wyoming Athletics in an affordable and accessible manner. The Ragtime Club (offered through the CJC), allows recent graduates to earn full CJC benefits at a discounted rate for five full years, starting for just $10 their first year. Additionally, with this new ticket model, young alumni will have the option to purchase season basketball tickets for just $100, their lowest price ever.
Aside from pricing, UW Athletics and its consulting partners also used strategic data to, for the first time in decades, reposition the way that sections within the Arena-Auditorium are broken down. No physical changes to the arena or seating have been made, but lower-level sections will now be divided (top and bottom) to ensure pricing changes align with demand. For example, Row 1-11 in sections E and L have consistently experienced a 93%+ sell-through rate (93% or more of available seats are sold). Due to this high demand, the pricing increase in these sections is higher than, for example, in rows 12-24 of that section. This ensures strategic increases that take fan demand and accessibility into account, instead of a blanket standard increase across all sections.
Previously, the Arena-Auditorium only had three total pricing levels, far behind the peer average of 6-14. By increasing the breakdown of pricing options, fans will, for the first time, have significant options.

The reality is that not all seats experience the same level of demand. Certain areas of the arena consistently sell at very high rates, while others have greater availability. As a result, price adjustments are concentrated primarily in the areas where demand already supports them, while many other sections will actually become more affordable.

The result is a pricing structure that is more equitable, more flexible, and more reflective of the seating experience offered throughout the arena.
As part of this process, Wyoming Athletics and its consulting partners also completed the first comprehensive review of Arena-Auditorium seating inventory in decades.
Previously, the Arena-Auditorium utilized only three season ticket pricing levels - well below the industry norm of six to fourteen pricing tiers used by peer institutions. The new model creates significantly more options for fans while providing a pricing structure that better matches demand throughout the venue.
While no physical changes have been made to the arena, certain sections have been divided into additional pricing tiers to better reflect differences in demand within those areas. This also aligns Wyoming with peers and industry standard for number of basketball pricing levels.
For example, lower-level center court seats in Rows 1-11 have consistently achieved sell-through rates exceeding 93%, making them some of the most sought-after seats in the building. Those seats now carry different pricing than seats in Rows 12-24 of the same section, where demand has historically been lower.
This allows Wyoming Athletics to make targeted adjustments based on actual purchasing behavior rather than applying the same increase to every seat.

UW Athletics, as part of this pricing change, is also excited to introduce its new 80-20 pricing incentive for season ticket holders. Moving forward, all season ticket holders who attend 80% of the team’s home games that season will be eligible for a 20% total discount on the following year’s season tickets.
Furthermore, all UW Men’s Basketball season ticket holders from 2025-26 will earn the 20% discount for their 2026-27 tickets if they renew prior to the basketball renewal deadline.
Attendance is tracked through the digital scanning of your season ticket when entering the Arena-Auditorium. Each time your ticket is scanned for admission, it counts toward your attendance percentage for the season.
To qualify for the 20% renewal discount, a ticket must be scanned for entry to at least 80% of Wyoming men's basketball home games during the season.
Important: Attendance is tracked on a per-ticket basis, not per account. If you own multiple season tickets, each ticket must meet the 80% attendance requirement to qualify for the discount. Additionally, each attendee may only scan ONE ticket per game.
Yes. As long as the ticket is used and scanned for entry into the Arena-Auditorium, it will count toward the 80% attendance requirement.
Additionally, season ticket holders who are unable to attend a game may transfer their tickets back to the Wyoming Athletics Ticket Office to help ensure the seat is utilized. If tickets are returned to Wyoming Athletics at least 48 hours prior to tipoff, the account will receive attendance credit for that game, regardless of whether the original ticket holder attends. Furthermore, ticket holders may also resell their tickets on the secondary market (SeatGeek) thru a ticketing feature found when logging in and clicking on “my account”. If sold and scanned, the scan will be credited to the original ticket holder.
In short: You can earn attendance credit by:
Attending the game yourself and having your ticket scanned.
Transferring your ticket to a family member or friend who uses and scans the ticket.
Returning your ticket to Wyoming Athletics at least 48 hours before tipoff through the ticket return program.
Utilizing UW’s third-party seat resale partners to sell your tickets.
This flexibility ensures that season ticket holders can continue working toward the incentive even when they are unable to attend every game personally.
If inclement weather occurs, you may still use the options of transferring your tickets or using our resale option to earn credit. Wyoming Athletics also established the 80% threshold to provide a buffer for fans to miss multiple games and still be rewarded. For example, in a season where UW Men’s Basketball hosts 15 games, a season ticket holder could miss three games and still meet the threshold.
Even after these changes, Wyoming remain lower priced, on average, than its peer institutions within the Mountain West Conference and region.
In many seating locations, Wyoming season tickets will continue to be priced below peer institution averages while still providing exceptional value. When comparing similar seating locations, the average season ticket price inside the Arena-Auditorium will remain approximately 48% lower than peer institutions.

Additionally, these changes were made in collaboration with two industry consultants. This will create a sustainable model that supports both fan access and future investment regardless of year-to-year results.

Current season ticket holders will maintain first priority in renewing their season tickets and retaining their existing seat locations.
Yes.
As part of the renewal process, returning season ticket holders will have the opportunity to select from available seating options if they choose to relocate. They will be able to do this immediately if desired, based on what other seats are currently available (not held as season tickets).
Our ticket office staff will work directly with fans to ensure the process is personal, seamless, and focused on finding the best seating option for each individual's preferences and budget.

Keeping current season ticket holders involved in Wyoming Athletics is a top priority.
The new pricing model includes reduced prices in 15 seating sections throughout the Arena-Auditorium, creating additional affordable options for fans. Our ticket office staff will work with you personally to help identify seating locations that provide both excellent views and a price point that fits your needs.
Only tickets that were part of your account the previous season are eligible for the 20% renewal discount. Any new season tickets added to your account must be purchased at the new standard season ticket price.
However, those new tickets can become eligible for the 20% discount in future seasons if they meet the attendance requirement.
Example:
Steve had two season tickets in Section D during the 2025-26 season and decides to add two more tickets for 2026-27.
His original two tickets would qualify for the 20% renewal discount and be priced at $220 each.
The two additional tickets would be considered new seats and would be priced at the standard season ticket rate of $275 each.
If all four tickets are scanned into at least 80% of home games during the 2026-27 season, then all four tickets would qualify for the 20% renewal discount for the 2027-28 season.
In short: Existing tickets can receive the renewal discount immediately. New tickets are purchased at the new standard pricing their first season, but can earn the discount for future seasons by meeting the attendance requirement.
These changes lower young alumni season ticket pricing.
In addition, young alumni may continue to take advantage of discounted pricing opportunities through the Ragtime Club for up to five years following graduation.
Providing affordable access for recent graduates is an important priority for Wyoming Athletics. These opportunities help young alumni remain connected to Wyoming Athletics and continue building lifelong traditions with Cowboy Basketball.
Wyoming Athletics is reducing the required CJC seat donation to be eligible for courtside seating from $10,000 to $5,000 for front row purchases, and $1,500 for second row purchases, making courtside seating more attainable for all fans for the first time.
While courtside ticket prices will increase, the decreased donation threshold lowers the overall cost of access for many fans. Even with these adjustments, Wyoming's premium seating options remain significantly more affordable than comparable offerings at many peer institutions.
No. Required Cowboy Joe Club donations for men's basketball season tickets were eliminated prior to the 2025-26 season as part of an effort to make Cowboy Basketball more affordable and accessible.

Single-game ticket pricing has not yet been finalized but will mirror the strategy for season ticket pricing (more strategic pricing based on demand while increasing accessibility) However, season tickets will always represent the best value ,followed by mini-plans then single game tickets.

What if I miss the renewal deadline?
Missing the renewal deadline may result in your tickets being “dropped” and made available to the public. If you miss the deadline, contact the UW Athletics Ticket Office immediately to walk through your best available options. You will also forfeit the opportunity to receive the 20% discount off of your season tickets from the attendance incentive.
