She came away with a number of victories for the Cowgirls. Denny was part of the 200 medley that took home a victory against Air Force with a time of 1:45.46. She also came away victorioous in the 200 backstroke against CSU with a final time of 2:05.81. At the MW Championships, Denny finished fifth in the 100 backstroke with a final mark of 54.85, and 15th in the 200 backstroke with a final time of 2:01.91. She was also a part of the 200 yard medley relay team that took fourth at the Championships. For the fourth time of her career, Denny was named to the All-MW team. Junior (2013-14): Denny was one of the Cowgirls leaders during her junior season earning All-MW honors in three different events. She placed second in the 200 backstroke at the MW Championship with a time of 1:56.22, as her time was just short of her school record time set at the 2013 MW Championships. Denny placed fourth in the 200 freestyle at the MW Championships with a school record time of 1:47.21. Her final All-MW honor came in the 500 freestyle, as she finished sixth in the event with a season-best time of 4:50.82. She also earned All-MW honors in the 400 medley relay. Denny set a Corbett Pool record earlier in the season with a time of 2:02.14 in the 200 backstroke. She had a big day for UW against Colorado State winning the 100 backstroke with a time of 55.92 and 200 backstroke with a time of 2:03.09. Sophomore: (2012-13): Denny established herself as one of the Cowgirls' leaders in both individual and relay events in her second year with the program. She earned All-Mountain West honors in three events, as she finished fourth in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:56.67, she also was a key member of the 400 medley relay and 800 medley relay teams that earned All-MW honors, after third and fourth-place finishes respectively. Denny had an impressive time of 54.73 in the 100 backstroke at the Houston Invite, as her mark ranks second all-time in the Cowgirls' record book. In the 200 backstroke against New Mexico she took first-place with a time of 2:07.84. Freshman: (2011-12): As a true freshman, Denny joined the Cowgirls and made a substantial impact. She recorded three top-five finishes at the Mountain West Championships including winning a conference championship in the 200 backstroke. Denny touched the wall in first place in the 200 back with a school-record time of 1:56.20. Her next highest finish came in the 200 freestyle finishing fourth with a time of 1:48.00. Her final top-five finish came in the 500 free when she finished fifth with a time of 4:50.09. For her efforts at the conference championships, she earned All-MW honors in all three events. Denny broke onto the Cowgirl scene during winter training at the Citrus Classic winning two individual events and helping a relay to a victory. She won both the 200 back (2:08.79) and the 500 free (5:06.99) at the Classic. She also helped the 400 medley relay to a victory with a time of 3:53.79. In the final home dual of the season against Colorado State she earned victories in the 100 backstroke (57.71) and the 200 back (2:06.00). High School: Denny is from Billings, Mont., and swam for Billings Aquatic Club and Billings West High School. She was a four-year swimming letterwinner. She was a Montana Coaches Association All-State selection 2008 to 2011. She still holds the Montana state record in the 100 backstroke. She was also crowned a Montana state champion seven times. She excelled in the classroom as well as in the pool being named Academic All-State all four years. In 2011, she earned the Principal's Academic Award. Personal: Denny was born in Billings, Mont., on April 21, 1993. She is the daughter of Les and Jan. She has an older sibling, Morgan, who swam at Boise State. She is majoring in kinesiology and health promotion.
