Career Stats Career Statistics Biography Summary Biography UW This Season: Miraldo Michel will hit the field for fall camp as the No. 1 left defensive end on the UW depth chart. He will be one of several Cowboys expected to fill the void at defensive end with the departures of 2011 seniors Josh Biezuns and Gabe Knapton, who both earn Second Team All-Mountain West honors last season. 2011: Michel played in one game in 2011, taking the field versus Nebraska. He enrolled at UW in January of 2011, but missed spring drills due to surgery. Junior College: Originally from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Michel played his junior-college football at Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls, Iowa. The Ellsworth Panthers concluded the 2010 season ranked No. 14 in the final NJCAA national poll. Michel recorded 40 total tackles, including 16 solos and 24 assists from his defensive end position. He also had 4.0 sacks, 8.5 tackles for losses, two pass breakups, one fumble recovery and one blocked field goal. Ellsworth captured The Graphic Edge Bowl to end the season with a 34-20 win over Lackawanna College of Pennsylvania. Ellsworth posted an 8-3 overall record and a 5-2 conference mark in the Midwest Football Conference West Division. They placed second to conference champion Iowa Western, which finished the season ranked three spots ahead of Ellsworth at No. 11 in the nation. High School: Michel played his high school football at Piper High School in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
