Biography

UW This Season: Despite missing portions of spring practice, White emerged as the top free safety on the final depth chart.

2013: White had a great junior season cut short by injury. A starter for each of the first six games at strong safety, he posted 28 tackles, a pass breakup and led the team with two forced fumbles. He had five tackles and a forced fumble versus Idaho, and recorded eight stops and tackle for loss against Nebraska.

2012: Appearing in 12 games for the Pokes, White became a fixture in the UW secondary, splitting time at cornerback and safety. He tallied 39 tackles, including half a tackle for loss. His pass defense was solid, as he accounted for three pass breakups. Against Nevada, White had one interception for 24 yards, along with six tackles. He had three games with at least six tackles over the season. He was effective versus Fresno State, with seven solo stops and one assisted tackle.

2011: White became a productive member of the Cowboy defense and special teams in his first season of game action. One of the most versatile athletes on the team, White had his best game of the year versus Colorado State, when he had three tackles. He recovered a fumble against Weber State and had a pass breakup against Bowling Green. White played in all 13 games and saw more time in the defensive backfield as the season went on and he became more experienced. He had 13 total tackles for 2011.

2010: Redshirted.

High School: White came to Wyoming as the No. 19-ranked recruit in the state of Missouri by Rivals.com. He played quarterback in high school. White was named First Team Class 1 All-State as an all-purpose back by the Carthage Press in Carthage, Mo., and was named Third Team Class 1 All-State as a quarterback by the Missouri Football Coaches' Association. In his senior year of high school at Kansas City's University Academy, he passed for 1,809 yards and 19 touchdowns and rush for 1,855 yards and 26 TDs for a total of 3,664 yards of total offense. He captained his University Academy team to a 7-3 record, his school's first district championship and the second round of the state playoffs in `09. White also achieved honor roll status his senior year of high school. He played for head coach Damon Paul.

Personal: Born April 19, 1992, he is one of five children of Leah Banks and Darrell White. He was also recruited by Duke, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska. He is pursuing a degree in psychology at UW.
