UW This Season: D.J. May made an excellent transition from running back, which he played his first two seasons at Wyoming, to the strong-side linebacker/nickel position last year. He also provides Wyoming with an outstanding threat as a kick returner. 

2015: Appeared in 11 games with 10 starts for the Cowboys in his first season on the defensive side of the ball. He was named Third Team All-Mountain West as a return specialist by Phil Steele. He finished the season with 69 tackles ranking fourth on the team. He recorded 42 solo tackles and 27 assisted tackles. He also added 4.5 tackles for loss for 22 yards with one sack for 18 yards. May led the team with 10 pass breakups. He recorded a pass breakup in six straight contests. May was also the Cowboys top kickoff returner with 24 returns for 630 yards averaging 26.2 yards per return. May ranked fourth in the MW and No. 24 in the nation in kick return yards. He recorded a season-best 49 -yard return against Appalachian State. He also added a 47-yard return against North Dakota. May recorded a career-high 14 tackles at Boise State in a contest where he also added a tackle for loss. He recorded nine tackles with 1.5 tackles for loss and one sack against Nevada. His sack helped the Cowboys seal the win over the Wolf Pack. He finished the season with eight tackles against San Diego State and UNLV. 

2014: Appeared in six games for the Cowboys before suffering a season-ending injury. Rushed 56 times for 260 yards averaging 4.6 yards per carry and 43.3 yards per game. May had 101 yards receiving against Oregon and also added 42 rushing yards and a 68 yard kick return against the Ducks for 211 all-purpose yards. He rushed for 96 yards on 13 carries against Montana including a 58-yard touchdown run. He rushed for 71 yards on 15 carries and added a touchdown against Florida Atlantic. 

2013: Redshirted due to injury.  

2012: Though just a freshman, May was part of a deep rotation in the Cowboy backfield for much of the season. He played in 11 of UW’s 12 games, gaining 374 yards to lead all Pokes. He averaged nearly five yards per carry and scored one touchdown. He had two games in which he eclipsed the 90-yard mark, against Air Force (94) and San Diego State with 90. He led UW in net yards, average per rush and average per game with 34 yards.  

High School: May earned First Team Associated Press Class 4A All-State honors as a defensive back his senior season. Class 4A is the largest classification in the state of Washington. May was named a First Team All-South Puget Sound League (SPSL) South Division running back and Second Team defensive back. He was named the SPSL Co-Offensive Back of the Year. He earned All-Area honors from The Tacoma News Tribune. May rushed for 1,320 yards on 139 attempts, scored 18 rushing touchdowns, one receiving TD and returned two interceptions for touchdowns. He also caught 13 passes for 140 yards. He was elected a team captain as a senior and helped lead Federal Way High to an 11-1 record in 2011 and the second round of the state playoffs. As a junior he earned First Team SPSL All-Conference as a running back, and was named to the Federal Way Mirror All-City Team. He rushed for 1,310 yards as a junior, had 1,867 all-purpose yards and scored 14 touchdowns. An outstanding track and field athlete, May placed 10th in the state as a junior in the long jump, fourth in the 4-by-400-meter relay and eighth in the 4-by-100-meter relay. As a freshman, he was a Junior Olympic National Qualifier in the long jump and placed 10th in the state in the triple jump. He played for head football coach John Meagher.  

Personal: Born Oct. 17, 1993, he is the son of Melissa Glatt and Lanell Jackson. His step father is Andy Glatt. He has five brothers - Christian, Devon, Diego, Jaden and Dylan. He was also recruited by Idaho. He is pursuing a degree in communication at UW.
