LARAMIE, Wyoming (9/28/26) – The Mountain West Conference announced its Players of the Week for soccer on Monday. A pair of University of Wyoming student-athletes were honored.

Haley Bartel earned Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week recognition for the third time this season and fourth time of her career. Isabel Vasco reeled in the Freshman of the Week award for the second time in 2026.

Haley Bartel shut out Nevada, 2-0, last Thursday, with one save. It was the Cowgirls' sixth straight win, matching the longest win streak in school history, and their sixth straight road win, which is the longest in program history. Bartel now has six clean sheets on the season and 24 for her career, and that's five clear of the second-best mark at Wyoming.

Vasco played a role in the offensive pressure Thursday that resulted in a 15-2 shot disparity in favor of the Pokes. She accounted for three of those shots.

The Cowgirls, who own an 8-2-0 record, remain on the road this week. They travel to UC Davis on Friday for a 7 p.m. match at Aggie Soccer Field.
