USAFA, Colo. (Sept. 27, 2026) – Dilnaz Mashabayeva captured the crown in the Delta Flight Sunday on the final day of the Bedford Cup hosted by Air Force. Mashabayeva, who becomes the first Cowgirl to win a title at the Bedford Cup since 2023, defeated Appalachian State's Sreenidhi Balaji, 7-5 and 6-4.
"It was a pretty good weekend overall for the Cowgirls," said Head Coach Dean Clower.
"Congratulations to Dilnaz, she was an absolute warrior all weekend and showed the younger girls what Cowgirl Tough means. We have a lot to work on as a whole from 1-9 on the team. Practices will definitely be intense as we have a lot to learn."
Mashabayeva went 4-0 at the tournament and improved her record to 6-0 this fall. It was a successful day all around for the Cowgirls on the last day of the cup. Anastasiia Kochelaevskaia won her third-place match in the Alpha Flight. Kochelaevskaia defeated New Mexico's Vianca Corley, 6-2 and 6-2. In the Charlie Flight, Zlata Nesterova won her consolation final matchup with CSU's Dylan Voeks, 7-6 (9-7) and 6-3.
In doubles Sunday, the Wyoming tandem of Silver Bijlsma and Nesterova won the consolation finals in the Silver Flight. The duo defeated the Texas Tech team of Teodora Prisadnikova and Kaili Demi Teso, 6-4.
UW is now off for the next couple of weeks before beginning play in the month of October. The Cowgirls will travel to Provo, Utah beginning October 13 for the ITA Mountain Regionals hosted by BYU.
