COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (9/19/26) – The University of Wyoming men's golf team concluded Day 1 of the Gene Miranda Falcon Invite on Saturday. The Cowboys are tied for third at 285 (-3) in a tournament being played at the Eisenhower – Blue Course.

"We had a good round, and I'm pleased," head coach Joe Jensen said. "I'm grateful for the guys. We are sticking to our processes. We are putting in the effort, and when you do that, good things happen."

Brody Leid is the tip of the spear thus far for the Pokes. He's tied for first after a 68 (-4) that was littered with seven birdies.

"He loves the process, and he loves being in the moment," Jensen said. "He's a very, very consistent, solid and reliable player."

Conner Scheich enjoyed a strong day. He shares 20th following a Round 1 score of 71 (-1). His card featured four birdies.

Brody Knowlton is tied for 29th following an opening-round 72 (E). He holed a pair of birdies.

Kellen Ball is sharing 47th after a Saturday score of 74 (+2). Austin Barry rounds out the Cowboys at the Blue Course, as he registered a 76 (+4) and is tied for 64th.

Jack Newton, who's playing in the individual tournament at the Silver Course, shares third place following a 68 (-4).

The second round commences Sunday at 8:30 a.m.
