LARAMIE, Wyoming (9/15/26) – The University of Wyoming soccer team wraps up non-conference play this week. The Cowgirls travel to Colorado State on Thursday for a 7 p.m. match at the CSU Soccer Field. The game will be streamed on the PAC-12 Network.
The Pokes – who are ranked No. 9 in the latest Pacific Region Coaches' Poll – have won four in a row, which has improved them to 6-2-0 on the season. The Rams are off to a rocky 1-5-1 start but are fresh off a 2-2 draw against unbeaten Big 12 foe, Kansas State.
"We are confident but not cocky," Wyoming forward,
Kiley Ballek said. "We've had a good start to our season, and we are looking at finishing our non-conference on a good note to set us up for conference play. And with it being CSU, it's a big game, so we are excited."
While Ballek hasn't scored yet this season, she's helped create opportunities for eight different Cowgirls who have found the back of the net. That number is higher than the number of goal scorers from all of last year.
Alyssa Glover leads the way with four goals and three assists for 11 points. She currently resides in the top three in program history in goals (23), points (58) and game-winning goals (10).
Both
Maddie Burr and
Isabel Vasco have provided significant support with three scores apiece.
Alisa Bunn has two goals to her name, while
Hadley Linder,
Reese Gould,
Erin Dahl and
Brooke Brown have all scored once in 2026.
It's a balanced attack that has outscored their foes, 17-7, and, 10-1, in the second halves. Goalkeeper,
Haley Bartel, is a big part of that equation, as she's started all eight matches and has 20 saves with only six goals allowed for a GAA of 0.77. Bartel also has four clean sheets, giving her 22 for her career, which is three clear of the second-best player in school history.
The Rams have only allowed 10 goals this season, and a big reason for that is keeper, Addison Huber. She's started all seven matches and has collected 22 saves for a GAA of 1.43.
Colorado State is still searching for more offense. Only Ava Wallhead has scored more than once with two goals, while four other Rams have registered a goal.
This marks the first time in the rivalry's history that it'll be contested as a non-conference match. Wyoming has dominated the all-time series, 9-1-3, however, the Rams are 1-0-2 in the last three meetings, including last season's 3-3 draw in Laramie.
Following the trip to Fort Collins, the Cowgirls begin Mountain West Conference play on the road. They travel to Nevada on Sept. 24 for a 7 p.m. match at Mackay Stadium.
