LARAMIE, Wyo. (Sept. 12, 2026) – The Wyoming Cowgirls lost in three sets Saturday night to close the UniWyo Invite. The Cowgirls were swept by Colorado State 25-18, 25-14 and 25-15.
CSU hit .396 in the contest and enjoyed a 14-5 advantage in team blocks. The Rams also had a 5-2 margin in service aces. UW (4-4) hit .155 on the night.
Emma Winter led the Cowgirl offense in the loss with seven kills and hit .500 as she had just one attacking error. Ryle Heinz had six while Addy Thorington and Anna Williams, who was making her first-career start, added five each. Williams hit .455 on the night and led Wyoming with three total blocks.
At setter, Sara Quigley led the Cowgirls with 17 assists and had one of the UW aces. Maddy Stucky had 10 assists. Peyton Carruth tallied four digs, an ace and a kill against the Rams. Rya Fingerlin led Wyoming with nine digs.
Next up, Wyoming closes its non-conference slate next week with a trip to the Idaho State Tournament. The Cowgirls open the tourney Thursday at 4 p.m., against familiar foe, Boise State.
