Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | Bud Denega
MISSOULA, Montana (9/11/26) – For the first time in a few weeks, the University of Wyoming soccer team trailed. Montana struck first Friday in a match at South Campus Stadium.

The Cowgirls response to that deficit was quite strong. They tallied the next three goals en route to a 3-1 victory.

The win is the Pokes fourth in a row and improves them to 6-2-0 on the season. The loss drops the Grizzlies to 2-5-0.

"We were not going hit the panic button," head coach Josh Purdum said. "We are going to be tested in conference and tested in these types of situations. We need to be sure we are sticking to our game plan, and the girls did a fantastic job not hitting the panic button and kept playing our style.

"It's a testament to our mindset."

The bounce back happened quick, and it was Wyoming's eighth different goal scorer that was responsible. Hadley Linder redirected a pass from Reese Gould during the 18th minute. It came less than two minutes after Grace Morton's opening score.

Maddie Burr gave Wyoming its first lead of the evening in the 54th minute. Her stick-to-it-iv-ness was on display as her initial shot was turned away before she found the ball again and tallied her third goal of the season.

Isabel Vasco also netted her third goal of 2026. She put the cherry on top of the match with a goal in the 88th minute that was assisted on by Alyssa Glover.

Haley Bartel wasn't all that busy in net for the Pokes. She made one save.

A big reason for Bartel's tepid evening was the fact that Wyoming dominated on the stat sheet. The Cowgirls outshot the Grizzlies, 22-3. Ten different Pokes registered a shot, while Vasco and Kiley Ballek led the way with four apiece.

Wyoming remains on the road for its final non-conference match of the season. It travels to Colorado State on Thursday for a 7 p.m. contest at the CSU Soccer Field.
