LARAMIE, Wyoming (8/5/26) – The Mountain West Conference announced its Preseason Soccer Coaches' Poll and Watch List recipients on Wednesday. The University of Wyoming was picked second in the poll, and three Cowgirls were recognized on the list.
Maddie Burr,
Haley Bartel and
Alyssa Glover were the three honored. Glover was a second team All-Conference selection a year ago.
Glover and Bartel are both chasing down school records this season. Glover is sixth all-time in goals with 19, sixth in points with 47 and third in game-winning goals with eight. Bartel is second all-time in shutouts with 18. Burr has been a key cog for the past couple of years, starting all but one game of her career and playing over 3,000 minutes.
Air Force was picked to win the league with 96 points and seven first-place votes. Wyoming garnered 83 points with one first-place vote, while New Mexico rounded out the top three with 82 points and a pair of first-place votes.
The Cowgirls host Denver in an exhibition on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Madrid Sports Complex. Wyoming opens the regular season at home against Drake on Aug. 13 at 4 p.m.
