NEW ORLEANS (July 21, 2026) – Four Pokes and both teams earned All-Academic distinction by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the 2025-26 indoor and outdoor track and field season.
Individuals who qualify as All-Academic Athletes hold a 3.25 GPA or higher and must meet one of the following athletic standards: finish Top 96 as an individual or Top 48 on a relay in the indoor season on the official NCAA POP list; participate in any round of the NCAA Division I Championship in the outdoor season. Teams selected by the USTFCCCA must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher.
Cowgirls
Elayna Chafee and
Taliah Morris were selected as All-Academic athletes following their 2025-26 track and field seasons. Chafee graduated with her degree in kinesiology & health promotions while leading the Cowgirl jumpers. Morris, while having a shortened season due to injury, still made an impact and excelled in the classroom in her psychology program.
On the men's side, senior
Ryker Holtzen and sophomore
Charles LaFore were named All-Academic athletes. Holtzen finished his year at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore., and earned his degree in agriculture business. LaFore continues to pursue his degree in finance while competing as a thrower.
In addition to these four student-athletes selected as All-Academic members, both the men's and women's teams earned the designation as All-Academic Teams. The Cowboys finished with a 3.22 GPA while the Cowgirls earned a 3.46 GPA in the 2025-26 school year.
