LARAMIE, Wyo. (May 21, 2026) – Cowboys Cam Burkett, Solomon Holden-Betts, Ryker Holtzen and Jacob White were selected to compete at the NCAA West First Round, May 27-30, in Fayetteville, Ark.

Only the Top 48 accepted entries among west-region competitors are selected for the preliminary competition. At the first round, the Top 12 finishers from each event will advance to the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship set for June 10-13, in Eugene, Ore.

Cam Burkett - Shot Put
With a season-best mark of 19.34 meters in the shot put, set at the Mines Kit Meyer Classic, Burkett enters ninth at the west regional. The Casper, Wyo., native, also holds the No. 17 mark in the nation this year and will look to make the Top 12 to advance to Eugene, Ore. Burkett returns to the first round after finishing 14th a year ago.

Solomon Holden-Betts – 3,000m Steeplechase
In his first season donning the Brown and Gold, Holden-Betts qualified in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 8:43.66 from the Stanford Invitational, the No. 27 time this season. The transfer from Syracuse looks to help continue Wyoming's streak of multiple competitors making the NCAA Outdoor Championship.

Ryker Holtzen – 3,000m Steeplechase
Holtzen returns to NCAA-championship steeplechase competition after earning Second-Team All-America honors in the 3,000-meter steeplechase last season. He enters with the eighth-best time in the west at 8:34.06, set at the Stanford Invitational.

Jacob White – 5,000m
White joins Holtzen as a returner from the NCAA championship from last season, where he was named a Second-Team All-American in the 5,000 meters. While sitting on the bubble this season with a time of 13:43.97 set at the Bryan Clay Invitational, he entered with the 46th-best time this season.
