FORT COLLINS, Colo. (May 2, 2026) – Wyoming put together an impressive final regular-season meet as freshman
Jackson Aydelott broke the 49-year-old 400-meter outdoor school record and seven other Top 10 times were set at the Doug Max Invitational, Saturday.
COWBOYS
Wyoming began the first event of the day with a splash in the 3,000-meter Steeplechase. Sophomore
Austin Akers was the lone competitor for the Cowboys, finishing fifth with a time of 9:25.72.
In the 5,000 meters, senior
Dylan van der Hock led the way for the Pokes in eighth with a time of 15:03.66. He was followed by sophomore
Nolan Hoffman crossing the line at 15:49.53 for 12th.
In a stacked 1,500-meter field, Wyoming saw three personal bests. Senior
Mac Zastrow finished in seventh with a time of 3:43.13 after altitude conversions. This was a personal best, a Top 15 time in the Mountain West and moved Zastrow up to No. 4 in program history.
Sophomore
Solomon Holden-Betts crossed the line next in the 5,000 meters at 3:56.69 for 13th, a personal best after converting to 3:51.34. Senior
Jacob White and junior
Aidan Ramsey finished next to one another for 16th and 17th. White ran a time of 3:57.83 while Ramsey crossed the line at 3:57.87. Sophomore
Meyer Smith closed out the event in 20th at 4:00.22, a personal best.
The Cowboy 4x100-meter relay was just what the sprinters needed to kick off a great day. The crew of freshman
Ryan Elsen, freshman
Jackson Aydelott, sophomore
Bridger Norton and senior
Carter McComb finished under the previous meet record at 40.20 for second. This new pairing on the season set the No. 2 program time.
After a short track break, Aydelott made his way back to break the 400-meter outdoor school record. His third-place time of 46.43 broke a 49-year record and claims both the indoor and outdoor records for the freshman.
Junior
Cody Hape and senior
Darius Wiggins made their way around the track in seventh and eighth in the 400 meters. Hape ran a time of 48.15 while Wiggins crossed the line at 48.51.
The men's hammer throw was the first field event to finish ,with freshman
Ayden Mills taking seventh. On his fifth attempt, he threw to 50.48 meters for a personal best by over a foot.
In the shot put, senior
Cam Burkett finished second with his best put landing at 18.52 meters. He reached this mark two times, on attempt two and five, while throwing to at least 18.30 meters on each fair throw.
Sophomore
Christian Edwards competed in the long jump and placed second. He landed at 7.17 meters on his fifth attempt for a personal best.
In the 100-meter dash, McComb led the Cowboys for fourth with a wind-legal time of 10.58, his best 100 meters since last year's Doug Max Invite. Freshman
Chance Morris ran his only race of the day in the 100-meter and took 12th with a time of 10.87.
Senior
Tristan Knueppel was the only Poke to run in the 800 meters. He crossed the line at 1:54.02 for 15th.
In the discus throw, sophomore
Quinn Lindsay threw to eighth with a distance of 49.12 meters on his second and final fair attempt.
Two Cowboys lined up for the 200-meter dash and finished 2-3 in the race. Elsen crossed the line second at 20.91, again under the meet record, and only 0.02 seconds off the first-place finisher. Elsen now holds the No. 2 time in the outdoor 200 meters, just over the 20.87 school record. Norton took third with his finish of 21.39, a personal best, to close the meet for the men.
COWGIRLS
The Cowgirls' day began in the 5,000 meters, where senior
Marina Trave and redshirt-freshman
Gracie Uhre finished 2-3. Trave ran a time of 18:00.45 while Uhre crossed the line at 18:04.89 in her first outdoor 5,000-meter run.
Seven Cowgirls ran in the 1,500 meters, continuing Wyoming's success in the event on the day. Junior
Hailey Uhre came in fourth with a time of 4:38.90 and a personal best after converting for altitude to 4:22.82. This is also the new No. 5 time in program history. Redshirt-freshman
Claire Engelhardt finished right after Uhre in fifth with a time of 4:29.62. With conversions, her time of 4:23.53 is a personal best and No. 8 in Wyoming outdoor history.
Sophomore
Muriel Jones crossed the line 10th at 4:36.15 while sophomore
Brionna Holso ran to 15th at 4:41.09 and redshirt-freshman
Ella Unrein finished in 17th with a time of 4:45.90, both personal bests. Finally, in the 1,500 meters, redshirt-freshman
Megan Doherty and
Lauren Clarke ran personal best times of 4:52.50 for 25th and 5:02.06 for 29th, respectively.
Sophomore
Koi Adderley competed in her first of two events on the day in the high jump. She placed fourth after clearing an opening height of 1.66 meters, a season best.
In the women's hammer throw, senior
Kaitlyn Gallo finished sixth with her best toss of 49.45 meters. She reached this mark on her third attempt and reached 49 meters on all three of her fair throws.
Sophomore
Eva Dellorco won the 400-meter dash after her finish of 54.18 in heat one. This was a personal best, improving the Castle Rock, Colo., native's No. 7 program time and wrapping up a wonderful meet for Wyoming's 400-meter runners.
Freshman
Desirae Iacovetto ran in her first of two events on the day with the 100-meter hurdles. Running out of heat one, she placed fifth with a personal-best time of 14.23.
Senior
Faith Jehu was the lone Cowgirl in the 100 meters. She crossed the line ninth with a time of 12.53, a season best.
Redshirt-freshman
Teagan Becker placed third in the shot put with a personal-best put of 14.08 meters on her sixth and final attempt. She was followed by freshman
Jade West in fourth. She threw to 13.94 meters, reaching that mark on attempt three.
Sophomore
Hanan Aldelemy led Wyoming with her fifth-place finish in the 800-meter run. She finished with a time of 2:09.20, a personal best and No. 7 time with conversions to 2:08.45. The next finisher was sophomore
Julia Rudolph, coming in ninth with a personal-best time of 2:10.35. Senior
Libby Berryhill came in 11th after giving it her all for a time of 2:13.91. Sophomore
Kayla Coppola and redshirt-freshman
Elliana Zock crossed the line 14-15 with times of 2:16.28 and 2:16.46 for personal bests, respectively. Finally, sophomore
Lily Nichols ran to 17th with a time of 2:19.00.
Adderley would lead the way in the long jump with her fifth-place jump of 5.71 meters on her final leap. Senior
Elayna Chafee followed in sixth with a mark of 5.64 meters on attempt four. Sophomore
Melody ZumBrunnen would take ninth with a jump of 5.35 meters.
Chafee would also compete in the triple jump to close the field events for Wyoming. She finished third with a leap of 11.86 meters on her fourth attempt.
In the 400-meter hurdles, junior
Gabbreiella Mendoza-Molina ran to first with a personal-best and first sub-1 minute time of 59.80. This moved her to T-No. 8 in program history and Top 10 in the Mountain West. Sophomore
Carly Norman finished next with a time of 1:02.75 for fifth. Rounding out the hurdles was freshman
Payton Becker with a time of 1:03.46, a personal best, for seventh.
Iacovetto closed out the day with a second-place finish in the 200-meter dash. She crossed the line at 24.65, her first under 25 seconds.
