CLOVIS, Calif. (May 16, 2026) – Wyoming put a bow on several Cowboy and Cowgirl careers on the final day of the Credit Union 1 Mountain West Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Saturday.

The Cowboys closed the outdoor championships in seventh with 42 points and the Cowgirls finished 12th with 13.5 points.

COWBOYS
Sophomore Christian Edwards wrapped up his season in the triple jump. After making the finals, he finished with his best and only mark of 13.85 meters, a season best, for ninth.

Across the stadium in the throws lot, sophomore Quinn Lindsay competed in a stacked discus throw. He made the finals and finished with a personal best of 54.56 meters for eighth overall and one team point.

The men's 4x100-meter relay squad of freshman Ryan Elsen, freshman Chance Morris, sophomore Bridger Norton and senior Carter McComb passed the baton around in 40.94 for fifth. With their finish at the line, they earned the Cowboys four team points.

Elsen returned to compete in the 100-meter dash final after entering with the third-fastest prelims time. He crossed the line sixth with a personal-best time of 10.46, good for the T- No. 5 time in school history and three team points.

In the 5,000 meters, senior Jacob White led Wyoming in fifth for four team points. He stayed in the leading group before dropping and crossing the line at 14:00.65. Senior Mac Zastrow finished next with a time of 14:20.17 for 12th. Junior Aidan Ramsey was the final finisher for the Cowboys in 19th and a time of 14:53.54.

In the final event of the championship, the men's 4x400-meter crew of junior Cody Hape, sophomore Bridger Norton, Elsen and senior Darius Wiggins took seventh at 3:15.32 for two team points. Norton made up major ground in his first 200 meters to put the Cowboys in place for Wiggins to close out his Wyoming career as the final leg of the relay.

COWGIRLS
The Cowgirl's afternoon began in the triple jump with senior Elayna Chafee and sophomore Koi Adderley. Chafee closed her Wyoming jumping career in 11th with a mark of 11.89 meters, her best since the outdoor opening meet. Adderley, who only completed one jump before heading to the high jump competition, finished 17th at 11.35 meters.

In the high jump, Adderley would clear a height of 1.61 meters on her first attempt before bowing out on her sophomore season at 1.71 meters. For her efforts, she placed T-8th and earned 0.5 team points.

In the first of four track events in finals competition for the Cowgirls, the crew of sophomore Madeline Thorne, freshman Desirae Iacovetto, sophomore Megan Witkiewicz and Chafee ran in the 4x100-meter relay. They finished first in their heat and took eighth overall at 46.50 for one team point.

As the only Cowgirl to qualify from a prelim race, sophomore Julia Rudolph took on the 800-meter final. She would place ninth with a time of 2:11.52.

In the 5,000 meters, junior Hailey Uhre, junior Eowyn Dalbec and redshirt-freshman Claire Engelhardt finished after one another for 17th, 18th and 19th, respectively. Uhre ran a time of 16:43.43, Dalbec crossed the line at 16:44.87 and Engelhardt finished at 16:45.48, a personal best.

After the leading trio, senior Marina Trave finished in 23rd at 16:50.46 while sophomore Muriel Jones followed close by in 27th with a personal-best time of 16:56.55. Finally, sophomore Brionna Holso and redshirt-freshman Gracie Uhre placed 33rd and 36th, respectively, with times of 17:22.04 and a personal best of 17:29.05.

Like the 4x100 relay, the Cowgirls won their heat of the 4x400-meter relay. Mendoza-Molina set the pace for the Cowgirls with an opening split of 53.09, the fourth best in the event.
