LARAMIE, Wyoming (4/30/26) – The Big 12 Conference announced its Winter Academic Team on Thursday. Five University of Wyoming wrestlers earned the honor.  

John Alden, Riley Davis, Sefton Douglass, Jared Hill and Brett McIntosh reeled in the award. Davis qualified to his first-career NCAA Championships, Douglass and Hill started and were Big 12 Championship participants, while Alden and McIntosh started off and on throughout 2025-26.

In order to qualify, a student-athlete must possess a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher and have participated in 20 percent of their team's contests. Freshmen are not eligible and seniors who have competed for a minimum of two years and don't meet the participation threshold are eligible.
