INDIANAPOLIS (April 29, 2026) – Cowgirl alumna Carly (Palmer) Borrman was selected as one of 42 winter sport student-athletes to take part in the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship program, the NCAA office announced.

Only student-athletes who have shown outstanding academic achievement, athletic excellence and leadership within their community from all three NCAA divisions are selected for this prestigious $10,000 graduate study support.

Each year, the NCAA awards 126 postgraduate scholarships to student-athletes who have completed their final year of athletics competition. The scholarships are distributed three times annually — in the fall, winter and spring — providing 21 scholarships each to men and women per season. The award is a one-time, nonrenewable scholarship intended to support graduate study at an accredited institution.

Borrman, who is currently the assistant swimming coach at the University of Mary and earning her doctorate in Occupational Therapy, was an exceptional swimmer for the Pokes during her time in Laramie. She earned All-Mountain West designations in three swims, holds three Top 10 program times and competed at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in the 100-meter breaststroke in 2024. On the academic side, Borrman was recognized as a CSCAA Academic All-American and received the Mountain West Senior Recognition Award for swim and dive.

Borrman becomes just the third student-athlete from Wyoming and 13th from the Mountain West Conference to win this scholarship. Previous Wyoming winners were Christopher Henry (2020-21) from men's cross country and Reilly Gilbert (2023-24) from men's swimming and diving.
