LAS VEGAS, Nev. (April 23, 2026) – The No. 8 seed Wyoming Cowgirls' postseason run came to an end Thursday at the hands of top-seeded San Diego State in the quarterfinals of the Credit Union 1 Mountain West Tennis Championship. The Aztecs beat Wyoming 4-0, but the contest was highly-competitive throughout.
In doubles, the No. 2 team of Eugenia Ceinos and Madlena Orlova won 7-5. The Aztecs were able to clinch the Doubles Point behind the strength of a tiebreaker win at No. 3 to take an early lead in the match.
Three Cowgirls, Silver Bijlsma at No. 2, Violetta Borodina at No.3 and Eugenia Ceinos at No. 6 were all in the third set of their matchups before they went abandoned after San Diego State clinched the match with its fourth point.
UW concludes the tournament with a 12-11 mark overall on the season.
