LARAMIE, Wyo. (APRIL 21, 2026) – The Wyoming Cowboys opened the final week of spring practice Tuesday afternoon on a sun-soaked day inside War Memorial Stadium. It was the 13th practice of the spring as the Pokes will play the annual spring game inside War Memorial Stadium on Saturday starting at 1 p.m.
Spring Game This Saturday
The Cowboys will host the annual spring game inside War Memorial Stadium on Saturday, April 25 at 1 p.m. Gates for the contest will open at Noon with fans being asked to sit on the Lower East side of the stadium. More information on the events during the spring game will be released in the coming days.
What Head Coach Jay Sawvel Said
"We came out today with a good mindset and attitude. The effort and intent defensively on Saturday was good and our offense responded Saturday as well. What showed up was we have a lot of players on defense that can run around and hit. We feel like we have a clear line on what we need to improve at. We are going to play offense vs. Defense on Saturday and will be a simple scoring system of the defense leading 21-0."
Cowboy Defensive Tackles
Wyoming returns a talented group of players in the interior of the defensive line this season. The group has been banged up this spring, but returners
Jayden Williams along with
Tegen Seeds have gotten a ton of reps this spring. They will be joined by
Dante Drake and
Caleb Robinson, who missed last season with injuries.
Cody Crawford, a Natrona County graduate got injured early in the spring and
Alex Haswell missed time last season with an injury.
Williams recorded 24 tackles a season ago. Seeds added a tackle and an interception. Drake recorded eight tackles in 2024 and was poised for a breakup season. Robinson has 43 career tackles for the Brown and Gold.
Henry Rehberg redshirted last season but will look to add to the depth of the room.
The group will be joined by newcomers in
Ja'Quan Redfern and
Tanielu Maafala-Barbasa. Redfern recorded 10 tackles last season at Murray State and added a sack and a tackle for loss.
