LARAMIE, Wyo. (April 20, 2026) – The Wyoming Cowgirls will be the No. 8 seed this week at the Mountain West Tennis Championships, beginning Wednesday in Las Vegas. Wyoming will face ninth-seeded New Mexico at 2 p.m., Mountain Time Wednesday in the first round.

UW defeated the Lobos 4-1 in Albuquerque earlier this month. After dropping doubles against UNM, the Cowgirls rallied to sweep the first four matches of singles play to come away with the road victory. That was Wyoming's last victory during the regular season.

The Cowgirls have advanced to at least the quarterfinals at the Mountain West tournament in every tournament dating back to 2008. The winner of Wednesday's match moves on to face top-seeded San Diego State Thursday.
