LARAMIE, Wyo. (April 12, 2026) – The Wyoming Cowgirls suffered a heartbreaking loss Sunday at home, dropping a hard-fought 4-3 matchup with Grand Canyon. The Cowgirls were able to jump out to an early 3-0 lead thanks to winning the Doubles Point and taking the first two singles matches before the Lopes rallied to win the final four singles contests.

The Cowgirls were able to clinch doubles with wins at No. 1 and No. 3. At the third spot, the tandem of Serina Abriola and Ruby Young clinched the point with a 6-4 win. Silver Bijlsma and Violetta Borodina also won at No. 1, 6-3, continuing their strong 2026 together.

In singles, Bijlsma and Borodina won at No. 2 and 3, respectively to push the Cowgirls out to that 3-0 lead. Both won in straight sets with Borodina finishing first with a 6-2 and 6-3 win. Not long after, Bijlsma took her matchup, 6-3 and 6-2.

Next up for the Cowgirls will be the regular season finale Friday, April 17 as they close down in Fort Collins against Colorado State.
