LARAMIE, Wyo. (March 7, 2026) – Five swimmers, the most in program history, will represent Wyoming in eight events at the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships, March 18-20 for the women, and March 25-28 for the men, in Atlanta.
On the women's side, junior
Tara Joyce and sophomore
Macey Hansen will make the trip to the championships. Joyce earned an automatic bid when she won the Mountain West title in the 200-yard Freestyle with an NCAA standard time of 1:44.43. She would also earn an invite spot in the 100-yard Freestyle with her season-best time of 48.56.
Hansen will swim in the 1,650-yard Freestyle after she won the MW title and secured an automatic bid with her time of 16:16.41. She returns to the championship following an appearance in the 500- and 1,650-yard Freestyle last season as a freshman.
On the men's side, senior
Alex Metzler and junior
Simon Casey earned both double bids to the NCAA Championships. Metzler earned a chance to swim in the 500-yard Freestyle and 400-yard IM after winning Mountain Pacific Sports Federation titles. In the 500 Free, Metzler would touch the wall and win with a time of 4:16.20 while swimming a time of 3:44.10 in the 400 IM.
Casey won MPSF titles and picked up auto bids in the 200-yard Freestyle and 200-yard Backstroke. He swam times of 1:33.80 in the freestyle and 1:41.55 in the backstroke.
Freshman
Jackson Kogler also punched his ticket to Atlanta with his MPSF win in the 200-yard IM with an NCAA standard time of 1:43.70.
Five NCAA swimming bids mark the most in Wyoming history while five swimming or diving qualifiers are the most since 2015.
Wyoming men's and women's diving are also set to compete at the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships, March 9-14. Seniors
Alicia Gonzalez and
Natalie Six are looking for bids on the women's side while junior
Bruno Grau and sophomores
Kael Kropf and
Jonah Mann will compete on the men's side.
