LARAMIE, Wyoming (3/30/26) – The University of Wyoming men's golf team is back in action this week. The Pokes host the Cowboy Classic on Tuesday and Wednesday at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Arizona.
The course is a par 72 layout that stretches 7,330 yards. Thirty-six holes are scheduled for Tuesday with the final 18 being completed Wednesday. It'll be a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start both days.
Wyoming will look to bounce back after a couple of challenging performances in its last two times out. The Cowboys took 13th most recently at the Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate.
Brody Knowlton paced the Pokes – as he has through each of the first four tournaments of the spring season – tying for 37th. As a result, he reeled in his third Mountain West Conference Freshman Golfer of the Week honor this semester.
Wyoming was 13th at last year's Cowboy Classic.
Jaren Calkins led the way, sharing 42nd place.
The 2026 version features a 25-team field. In addition to Wyoming, Arkansas State, CSU Fullerton, CSU Northridge, Fresno State, Grand Canyon, Iowa State, New Mexico State, Northern Colorado, San Diego, San Francisco, South Dakota State, USC, Southern Utah, St. Mary's, UC Irvine, UNLV, South Florida, UT Arlington, UTEP, Utah State, Utah Valley, Weber State, Western Carolina and Wichita State are set to tee it up.
Following the Cowboy Classic, Wyoming has only one regular-season tournament remaining. It'll participate in the UC Davis El Macero Classic from April 10-12.
