ATLANTA (March 28, 2026) – Junior Simon Casey extended his 200-yard Backstroke school record, and freshman Jackson Kogler swam in the 200-yard IM on the final day of the NCAA season, Saturday.

"This week was a lot of fun for all of us," said head coach Dave Denniston. "To compete on the national stage for the first time on the men's side since I have coached here is something I will always remember and cherish."

Kogler swam in the first event of the day, the 200 IM, and finished with a time of 1:44.45 for third in his heat and 28th overall.

"Jackson handled himself really well for a freshman all season," said Denniston.

The freshman from Stillwater, Minn., also swam in the 400 IM in his first collegiate season, taking 32nd overall.

Casey added his second school record of the meet with a time of 1:41.38 in the 200 Back. He would touch the wall fifth in heat one and finish 35th overall.

"It was really cool to have Simon finish it up with a bookend school record in the 200 Back and go for a best time in that event," said Denniston.

Casey also broke the school record in the 200-yard Freestyle on Thursday with a time of 1:33.70.

Denniston added, "In many ways, Alex Metzler gave our team belief and confidence in how to handle a meet like this with his experience and what he brought to our program this year."

Senior Alex Metzler, a transfer from Ohio State, swam in his second NCAA championships in the 500-yard Freestyle and 400-yard IM.

"I couldn't be happier with the season and how it turned out," said Denniston. "It has also been fun watching the new pool get filled up with water while we were here, and just knowing that there are so many bright things on the horizon for our program."

The pool, and new home of Wyoming swimming and diving, is scheduled for completion in May of this year.

"We are going to use this season as a launch pad for success in the future," Denniston added.
