LARAMIE, Wyo. (March 18, 2026) – The Wyoming Cowgirl tennis team hits the road for the Silver State this weekend for a pair of Mountain West contests in Nevada. The Cowgirls will face Nevada at 1 p.m., Mountain Time Friday before traveling to face UNLV at 11 Sunday morning.
Wyoming (8-4, 1-1 MW) is coming off a home split last weekend to begin conference play. UW blanked Utah State in the Mountain West opener before falling 4-3 in a marathon contest with Boise State that lasted five-and-a-half-hours. The loss to the Broncos snapped a four-match winning streak for the Cowgirls.
Violetta Borodina went 2-0 to open league action last week, winning both matches at No. 3 singles. Borodina was the only Cowgirl to go 2-0 in singles last week. Silver Bijlsma, Eugenia Ceinos and Anastasiia Kochelaevskaia all picked up one win. In doubles, Ceinos and her partner, Dilnaz Mashabayeva, went 2-0 on the week at the second doubles position.
Bijlsma continues to lead the Brown & Gold with 10 dual wins in 2026 while Kochelaevskaia is up to 8-2. Borodina's singles mark this winter and spring is now 6-3. Bijlsma and Borodina also pace the Cowgirls with an 8-2 mark in doubles action in 2026.
Nevada enters Friday 4-7 overall and went 0-2 in the first week of Mountain West action. The Wolf Pack will be playing just their second home match when they face Wyoming. UNLV, meanwhile, is riding a six-match winning streak and is 9-2 this season. The Lady Rebels are 7-2 at home this season.
