LARAMIE, Wyo. (March 2, 2026) – After leading the Cowboys to a home win over Air Force on Saturday, freshman Nasir (Naz) Meyer was named the Old Trapper Mountain West Freshman of the Week. It marks the fourth time this season that Meyer has earned the honor and the fifth time that a Cowboy has done so this season.
 
Meyer, a native of Los Angeles, Calif., averaged 13 points per game against Boise State and Air Force. He also added 7.5 rebounds per game. he shot 50 percent from the field for the week and also added 1.5 assists and steals per game.
 
He scored 14 points including five in the final 90 seconds in the win over Air Force. He recorded an and-one play with 35 seconds to give Wyoming the lead and the win. Meyer grabbed eight rebounds in the contest against Air Force, which tied a career best.
 
Meyer has helped the Cowboys win 13 home games this season, as UW will close out the home portion of the schedule against Nevada on Tuesday at 8 p.m.
