LARAMIE, Wyo. (Feb. 5, 2026) – The Wyoming Cowgirls will host their first duals of the 2026 season this weekend as Minnesota and Idaho come to town for Saturday and Sunday matches, respectively. The match with the Golden Gophers is at 10 a.m., while Idaho and UW will face-off at 11 a.m.

Wyoming has been off for a couple of weeks after a successful first week of play in January down in Oklahoma. The Cowgirls went 4-2 in the Sooner State, including winning 2-of-3 matches at the Tulsa Hurricane Invitational, defeating Southeast Missouri and host-Tulsa. The Cowgirls swept the Old Trapper Mountain West Tennis Player of the Week honors announced January 21. Silver Bijlsma was named the league's freshman of the week while Anastasiia Kochelaevskaia was named the player of the week.

Both Bijlsma and Kochelaevskaia went 5-1 in singles matches down in Oklahoma. Kochelaevskaia went 4-1 at the No. 1 spot and also got a win at the second position. Bijlsma, meanwhile, went 2-0 at No. 2 and had three wins at No. 3. In doubles, Bijlsma and her partner, Violetta Borodina, went 5-1 at the No. 1 doubles position while Kochelaevskaia won three doubles matches with Serina Abriola.

Minnesota enters the weekend 4-0 this season. This will be the first true road match for the Golden Gophers. Idaho is 2-3 on the young season and is 1-1 in road contests. The Vandals lost 4-0 to Mountain West opponent Nevada Jan. 31.

UW, who went 4-3 at home in 2025, is 68-14 (.829) in home matches under Head Coach Dean Clower.
