RENO, Nev. (Feb. 28, 2026) – Wyoming track and field closed the Mountain West Indoor Championships with three podium finishes and six school-record-breaking performances, Saturday.

The Cowboys finished in sixth with 56 points while the Cowgirls placed 11th, totaling 18 points.

COWBOYS
Senior Cam Burkett finished as the Mountain West runner-up in the shot put with a toss of 19.01 meters. The Casper, Wyo., native made the final with his third throw, also his best, to take the silver medal. Burkett improved on his fourth-place finish a year ago. Sophomore Charles LaFore picked up fifth in the event with his final throw reaching 16.93 meters. Sophomore Quinn Lindsay would finish in the prelims with a put of 15.48 meters on his final attempt.

Jacob White added another silver medal to his 2026 collection with his second-place time of 7:58.01 in the 3,000 meters. His altitude-adjusted time of 7:48.13 extends his school record set last year. White broke each the Mile, 3,000 meters and 5,000 meters this indoor season.

Senior Ryker Holtzen finished eighth in the final to bring Wyoming to a total of nine points. He finished with a time of 8:07.09 in his first 3,000 meters this season. Sophomore Solomon Holden-Betts would take 30th, crossing the line at 8:37.53 while junior Aidan Ramsey ran to 35th with a time of 9:01.01.

The Cowboy 4x400-meter relay ran to second place for eight team points. Sophomore Bradley Ekstrom, junior Cody Hape, freshman Chance Morris and freshman Jackson Aydelott finished with a time of 3:11.86. This is just off their school record time of 3:11.81 set earlier this season.

Senior Mac Zastrow would finish 10th in the mile run final with his time of 4:12.48.

Aydelott would also race in the 400-meter final and cross the line fifth for another school record. With a time of 47.09, he added four team points for the Pokes.

In the 200-meter final, Gavin Cougle picked up a fifth-place finish with a time of 21.23 and four team points. This is a personal best for Cougle, lowering his program No. 2 time.

Junior AJ McGloflin finished sixth in the high jump. He cleared a height of 2.05 meters on his first attempt for three points.

Rounding out the Pokes' action on the field, junior Christian Edwards jumped to 13.48 meters in the triple jump for ninth. While he made the finals, his best jump came on his first.

COWGIRLS
Junior Eowyn Dalbec led Wyoming in the 3,000-meter final with her finish of 9:38.92 for ninth. This moved her up to No. 5 all-time with an altitude-converted time of 9:26.95.

Senior Marina Trave, sophomore Muriel Jones and junior Hailey Uhre all finished near one another, crossing the line 17th, 18th and 20th. Trave ran a time of 9:52.59, Jones at 9:55.63 and Uhre finished at 9:55.81. Sophomore Brionna Holso wrapped the competition in 28th with her finishing time of 10:07.25.

The women's 4x400-meter relay ran to seventh for two team points. The team of sophomores Gabbreiella Mendoza-Molina, Megan Witkieiwcz, Madeline Thorne and Eva Dellorco passed the baton around in 3:42.72 for the No. 4 time in school history. This is only the fourth time in Cowgirl history that the women finished the indoor 4x400-meter relay under 3 minutes and 43 seconds.

Freshman Jade West led the Cowgirl crew in the shot put with a finals appearance and eighth-place finish. She would reach a distance of 13.96 meters on her final attempt.
